An audible sound of hammer on wood was heard as Wynn Tumbuskyn's father -Zeigro, worked on a new wagon for carrying all the fruits and other materials that were too heavy to carry on a long trip. Wynn sat nearby, watching his father make the new "Carrying Thing" as he called it. Wynn sighed and laid back onto the grass, sometimes being alone could be so... lonely. He rested his head back far enough so he could see his younger sister play with an young ottermaid, as well as a mousemaid. He sighed some more and looked back to his father, who had stopped working seeing as he was drinking some ale now. ''You know, I heard that playing's good for the soul... I think. You should go find some beast your age to play with. Maybe you could teach them to use that bow o' yours!" Zeigro often tries to do this, making Wynn find a friend. But Wynn sometimes enjoyed being on his own. And besides, teach them to use his bow? Impossible. "Dad," he started. "You as much as anybody else in this bloody place knows that only I can use that bow. Either me, or a badger. It's too much of a deal to even pull the string. You'd have to pull more than you're weight!" It was true in fact. Wynn had grown up around bows and arrows and had made his very first one on his own. His father grumbled something and started to hammer again at the wagon. Wynn rolled his eyes, and got up, starting to take a small walk around the Abbey Grounds.

Quiet and silent as usual, Jeyka walked along the path around Redwall. Her hands folded in front of her and ears perked up to easily catch the banging of Zeigro’s hammer upon wood. The white mouse carried a few apples in her handbag while her sword remained in it’s sheath, lightly tapping her back as she walked. Her eyes brightened as she spotted Zeigro and Wynn knowing both of them, but she had never really been able to talk long to either one.
The Abbey was quiet and placid today more or less than usual. Maybe it’s just a slow day… Jeyka thought to herself. She herself didn’t have such a quiet day. This morning the little babes in the nursery room had started crying and awoken her bright in the morning and she had to calm each one of them. After that, she had a game of hide-and-seek with the little ones in the front yard then soon went to pick apples for everyone around the area.
Jeyka reached into her bag and pulled out two apples as she got closer to the two. ”Hello, Zeigro. Hello, Wynn.” She said calmly in her usual quiet yet gentle tone. ”I brought you some apples.” She stopped in front of the two and held the apples in her outstretched hands for both of them to take. ”I hope I didn’t disturb you.” Jeyka said toward Zeigro. Her gaze flickering toward Wynn with the same gentle manner.

Wynn was about to leave when he heard a noticable voice ceom from behind him. Turning around, he came to see Jeyka, a white mouse he had seen around the Abbey from time to time. He hadn't really talked to her, but maybe a few "Hello" 's around the halls, but that must've been the most of it. He smiled to her and looked to the sword in its sheath on her waist. 'She must mean business. note to self: Do not pick a fight with her!' He thought to himself. He smiled and took the apple from her, wiping it on his vest and taking a noticable chunk out of it. "Fank oof!" He said, smiling goofishly. Zeigro stopped the hammering when he heard a gentle voice of the dull and loud hammering of his... hammer. He stood up, stretching his tired and cramped fox limbs and shook out his tail. He accepted that apple with a smile and a nod. "Thank you Jeyka. I was about to get Wynn to head inside to fetch me something to eat in a mew more minutes." He turned his head to Wynn, who had just finished his apple. "Isn't that right, Wynn?" Wynn in return to his question just looked up and blinked, licked his lips and opened his maw as if to speak, but he quickly closed it trying to figure out what the question was seeing as he wasn't paying attention. "Uhm.... yes?" The answer came out as a question itself and he started to mentally slap himself.

Jeyka giggled gently at the two, a smile flickering upon her face. "I have plenty if you wish to have more." She said gently slowly bending down as she shuffled through her bag for another ripe apple. She suddenly gasped as the apples rolled out of the small brown bag. “Oh!” Jeyka dropped her to knees and began picking up the apples once again. There were many more than it looked and hopefully it was enough for all of Redwall Abbey.
Jeyka quickly piled the apples onto her dress as well as her bag to keep them all clean. She didn’t take much notice to the two as she kept her attention downward, flushing with embarrassment. Her long braid down her back swayed back and forth as she reached for the ones that rolled farther than the others with an angry grunt. Some were out of her reach with Jeyka on her knees and sprawling for the ones nearby.

Wynn smiled and nodded a little. "Y-yeah, sure." He looked away for a moment, but quickly turned back as Jeyka lost her apples from her brown bag. He bent down onto his knees and started to pick up the apples that had fallen far from her grasp. When he looked up, he couldn't help but smile as she started to mutter angry insults to the apples, as if they could understand perfect English as to what she was saying. He finished picked up that far rollers and help them in his crossed arms.
He looked to his father, Zeigro who had picked up a few apples on his own. "Wow old man," He joked to him. "I can't believe that you actually[/]i bent your back to pick some apples up!" He laughed for a few seconds, but stopped and gulped as he saw Zeigro give him a death glare. He looked away, whistled as if nothing had happened and smiled to him. "I'll just be quiet now... Okay? Okay then..." He chuckled, glanced nervously away from him and walked to Jeyka. "Here's you apples back." He said to her, smiling down to her small frame.

Jeyka smiled at him in thanks. ”Thankyou.” She replied with a nod as she filed the apples back into her bag. She slowly got up and pulled her braid over her shoulder, looking up at Wynn, who was much taller than her and much larger in size. To her, they were like giants yet personality-wise they were all the same. ”If only apples weren’t so round, they wouldn’t be such a burden.” She stated with a lightly irritated grunt but the fierce piece of her personality melted away into a joyful, goodhearted laugh, eyes sparkling with pleasure. ”But I guess they wouldn’t taste so good then wouldn’t they?”
Jeyka looked toward Zeigro, looking over what he was building with a steady eye. ”A new wagon, sir?” She asked through curiosity. The wood seemed finely crafted and Redwall Abbey did need something to gather fruits and other bountiful foods for their many merry feasts that Jeyka rarely attended due to her time devoted to the babes around Redwall as well as the sick and injured.

Wynn nodded and chuckled to her joke a little. "If apples weren't so round, they'd also be easier to stack on top of eachother." He smiled and laughed with her a little. "I don't think they wouldn't tast so good. They wouldn't have that special after taste of the sourness maybe, but other than that, I think they'd taste the same." He shrugged and sat down again on the grass. Who knows?
Zeigro perked his easrs when Jeyka spoke to him and he turned so that he was facing her. "Hm? Oh, right! The wagon!" He chuckled and scratched at the back of his neck slightly. "Yes, yes. A couple of the hedgehogs and moles have been requesting a new wagon, seeing as the old one is about to break under its own weight. So, I've been put to the assignment of a new one." He patted the nearly-finished wagon with a colossol black paw and rubbed it gently. He gave a gasp as he got a splinter on the palm of his paw and he picked it out with expertise precision. "Still got to sand 'er down, though." He chuckled and picked up his hammer. "And you can just call me Zeigro. 'Sir' makes me sound a little too old for my taste."
Lailya (LALE - YUH) giggled as she ran towards her older brother, Wynn and her father as well. Kara and Jayna had stopped playing with her because their parents said they wanted to go on a walk with eachother. That ment that Lailya was on her own. She giggled loudly and jumped onto Wynn's back, almost knocking him to the ground in the process. She was about 12 years of age, so that ment she was around 50 seasons old. She was about half of Wynn's height, so that ment she was about three quarters as tall as her father. "Hiya Wynn!" She chirped happily, as she started to gnaw on his right ear.
Wynn gave a huff as he was tackled from behind, and heard his sister's voice from on top of him. He gave a frown to the biting of his ear and he easily plucked her from his head and held her in front of him. "What happened to your friends?" He asked her. She told him in about four seconds, seeing as she was in a 'Hyper-Phase' at the moment. He cocked a brow and slowly nodded. "Uh-huh.... Well, why don't you see if Dad needs any help?" He put her on the ground and she skipped to their father.

”Indeed. I agree.” She stated happily with another flurry of giggles as she listened to Wynn’s silly philosophies. Her ears twitched at the sound of each little voice. His deeper voice much stronger than her own. ”I bet it would be quite true if it was possible.” Jeyka let out another echoing laugh. Eyes sparkling as she looked up at the taller fox. A smile played upon her face as she turned her head toward Zeigro. ”Yes. I think the wagon nearly snapped in two a few moments ago with a large crack within the wood.” She recalled thinking back earlier when she ran into a few creatures gathering and using the wagon with care. ”Good thing you are done with this one.” She approved with a gentle nod and that familiar smile that often layed upon the young mouse maiden’s face. ”And, of corse, Zeigro.” She said curtsying in slight embarrassment and shame at her small mistake.
Jeyka suddenly turned her head as she spotted the little Leilya running over to her brother. Watching the youthful pup was quite amusing. ”Hello, Lailya. Want an apple?” She asked, pulling out another bright red apple and outstretching it toward the little one. Though Lailya was two years younger than herself, they were about the same height except Jeyka was about a few inches taller. Jeyka was often very fond of little ones even if they were taller than the small white mouse.

Wynn nodded slowly and smiled. "Yes, quite interesting it would be!"
Zeirgo popped an eyebrow and chuckled goodheartedly. "In two?! My my, that must've been around when the Abbey was first built!" He chuckled and smiled as Lailya came to him. "How's my girl?" He asked in a fatherly tone, stroking her fur between the ears."
Lailya squeaked as her father started to pet her. She smiled and shrugged. "My friends left, but I'm alright!" He looked to Jeyka as she held out and apple. Smiling, she walked up to her and took the apple from her paw, looking it over as she saw her face in the reflection on the red surface. She squeaked and ran into Jeyka, squeezing her tightly. "Ohhh!! Thank you so much Jeyka! It's wonderful!" She smiling and hugged her tighter, before returning to Zeigro who was getting the new wagon onto its wheels. "Bye Wynn! Bye Jeyka!" Lailya left with her father as they went to show the new wagon to where it was needed.
Wynn rolled his eyes to his sister's antics, and stood back as she hugged Jeyka. Sighing with relief as they left, he slapped a paw to his forhead and spun on the back of his footpaw. "Thank goodness they're gone!" He joked. He smiled some more to Keyka and crossed his arms. "So what exactly are you doing out here?" He asked, mild curiosity in his voice.

Jeyka smiled at the young cub, finding herself a bit longing for that same feeling of joy that Lailya seemed to be feeling. The feeling of being loved by a family; a mother a father and a sibling or two. She was definitely envious but that jealousy melted away at the thought of the Abbey and how she had a home here all along. Either way, Jeyka could never find her family again. No matter what. She didn’t even know if she had ever had a family that had given birth to her. And often she did wonder about this and that familiar sight of a young one and his or her family always brought her to that same thought: Did I ever have a family…? But the thoughts always ceased at the thought of Redwall and her own contribution to the humble abode.
Jeyka giggled as the young fox took the apple from her hand and hugged her tightly. ”Your welcome, Lailya.” She replied in a bright tone and watched happily as the young one ran off with her father. Jeyka looked back at Wynn and smiled gently. ”Oh, I was just walking around the abbey. Having a gentle stroll and handing apples to anyone who needs it.” She replied with a gentle nod as she gathered up the corner of her dress in her right hand. ”Care to come with me? I could use some help.” She giggled.

Wynn pondered the thought barely, but made it seem like a big deal. "Weellll, I dunno! I've got that thing, you know! That one thing! Yeah so, like and then those other things. Buuuuuut, I suppose I could squeeze you in now..." He closed his eyes, nodded his head to himself and smiled. He laughed, opening them again and winking to her. "Well, c'mon then!" He grabbed her by the paw and tugged her along.

Jeyka laughed delightfully as Wynn led her along the winding path around Redwall. Soon they ran into a few more hungry creatures, dropping off an apple to each of them and bidding them adieu. Jeyka giggled as they slowed to a gentle walking pace. Her eyes darting from each moving object within her sight which was nothing much but Wynn, a butterfly or two and the rustling grass. ’They must all be inside.” She inccured smiling brightly. ”And my bag is near empty. So I guess I have nothing to do for the rest of the day.”

Wynn chuckled as they slowed down, waving to a couple Redwallers they had just given apples to. "Yeah, they must be..." He walked over to a window on the ground floor and peered through it. "I don't see anybeast..." He shrugged and walked back to Jeyka. "Maybe they're in the Great Hall, or in the Dorms..." He scratched his muzzle with a claw and looked around. 'Strange, there's usually somebody out here...' He smiled to Jeyka, and nodded for her to follow. "They must be in the front courtyard or in the Great Hall, maybe in the Gatehouse..."

Jeyka shrugged and let out a giggle. "Well, everyone must be out getting ready for dinner’ finishing all their chores and duties.” She said with a nod and a twitch of her whiskers. She shuffled through her bag once more, ears perked at the sound of nothing else to do. She had already played along with the little ones and had helped around the Abbey. She looked up at Wynn before pulling out the last apple in her bag. ”Would you like this one?” She asked him, polishing it against her simple light blue dress that was just as tattered and used like all the other creatures around Redwall.

A nod and grumble of jumbled words came from Wynn in agreement to Jeyka's statement about dinner. It was getting pretty close for the time to eat and the sun was starting to touch the horizon. When Jeyka pulled out the last apple, Wynn looked around to make sure that no other beast was around in case they didn't get one. "Uhm, sure!" He took it from her and kissed her on the side of her muzzle, taking a bite of at least three quarters of the apple. Swallowing the large piece, he started to toward the front entrance to the Great Hall. "C'mon!" He said, taking the second (also the last) bite out of the apple.
